We built PixelMax because we were tired of bloated desktop software, steep learning curves, and privacy trade-offs. Here's the story of how a browser-native AI editing studio was born — and what makes it different.
Why We Built PixelMax
Two engineers. One shared frustration. Too much time spent jumping between heavy desktop tools, confusing interfaces, and one-off web apps that only solved a single task.
That's the origin story of PixelMax. We wanted a faster way to handle everyday image work — removing backgrounds, cleaning up portraits, changing styles, restoring old photos, and making creative edits — without forcing people into a complicated workflow.
Browser-Native from Day One
The most important architectural decision we made early on was to keep the experience in the browser. No downloads. No plugins. You upload an image, choose a tool, and process it online.
This approach has three practical advantages:
- Convenience — You can start from almost any modern browser without installing a large desktop app.
- Privacy — We do not use uploaded photos to train models, and source files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing.
- Flexibility — Different jobs need different tools, so PixelMax brings multiple AI editing workflows into one editor.
What You Can Do Today
Today, PixelMax offers more than 25 AI image-editing tools across common workflows such as:
- Portrait and subject-focused edits — portrait enhancement and product-focused compositions that help clean up or repurpose image assets.
- Enhancement and restoration — photo enhancement, image restore, relighting, and colorize.
- Background and canvas work — background removal, background replacement, and outpainting.

Most tools are accessible from the editor sidebar. Depending on the workflow, a tool may ask for a preset, a text instruction, or a second image.
What Matters to Users
Our goal is not to promise perfect results on every image. It's to help you get from source photo to a usable result faster, with fewer manual steps, and with clearer expectations about what each tool can and cannot do.
